Selection Phase
Choose your candidate; draft or assign unique traits.
GrassRoots was built out of middle school boredom. We were finished with playing Lord of the Rings Risk for the 1,000th time — so we started developing our own.
As we were learning civics and how the Electoral College worked, the spark hit: what if we turned the presidential race into a game?
GrassRoots takes players through the whirlwind journey of the campaign trail. From archetype selection and political maneuvering to regional strongholds and final votes — every round leads to a high-stakes Election Phase.
The magic of GrassRoots lies in its replayability and home-rule creativity. Example: maybe everyone rolls two dice and drafts their favorite candidate instead of randomly receiving one.
Strategy, surprise, and satire — all in one game night.
Three phases of gameplay.
Choose your candidate; draft or assign unique traits.
Move across the map, take actions, claim HQs, and strategize region by region.
Flip cards, roll dice, trigger events, and try to win the Electoral College.
Rulebook and visuals coming soon.
